• Highlights of my time on the Cupertino Union School District Board of Trustees:
• Working closely with my fellow Board members, we were able to stop the school administrator from selling off our surplus school sites to developers during my first term.
• My foresight of an increasing trend in student enrollment paid off immediately in my second term. We were able to re-open Murdock-Portal and Eaton schools.
• I am a firm believer that money should be spent in classrooms. When there was a proposition to build a brand new administration office, with the help of my fellow School Board Members, we were able to stop the unnecessary construction and keep money where it belongs: in our classrooms.
• Because of my willingness to listen to constituents and their concerns, I helped defused two potential teacher strikes.
• I helped resolve the scheduling dispute between the District office and Miller Jr. High and Hyde Jr. High Schools.
• A proposition was presented before the Board to incorporate a part of Portal Park with Portal School. I was well aware that the incorporation project was without due process and citizens were not properly notified of the project. I managed to calm angry residents and solve the problem.
• I visited all 22 schools at least twice every school year and get valuable first-hand feedback from parents, teachers, and administrators. (I believe I am the only Board member to have ever done this on a consistent basis)
• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio
